Most Popular Things To Do See in Phuket

Phuket’s great advantage is that there’s always something to do on and off the island, whether it’s raining or shining. From the sublime to the seemingly profane, the range of activities and places to visit is remarkable for a destination of this size. Here are the Top Ten ‘Must See’ choices, built on popular vote. If you only get through half of these destinations you’ll have had an unforgettable holiday.

Phuket is a tourist destination, there are plenty of interesting things to see and many things do in Phuket. Some of the attractions are very touristy such as Phuket Fantasea or a LadyBoy Cabaret while other places (the kinds we prefer) are a little off the beaten track. Sure, we go to some touristy places too, but I just want to say that Phuket is a big island and it’s great to get out and explore.           Things To Do See in Phuket

Big Buddha

It’s Phuket’s best-known landmark and a must-see. It’s a work still in progress more than 10 years after construction began. We recommend visiting around sunset for a remarkable view of both sides of the island. Be sure to leave a donation at the temple, as it relies on contributions to complete construction of the Buddha.

Phang Nga Bay

It has been there, beautiful and unique for hundreds of years but it was only until James Bond visited it when the world set eyes on it. It is a serious of limestone karsts with caves that emerge vertically out of the emerald-green water.

Phuket FantaSea Show

Phuket FantaSea Show Comparable to a Las Vegas show, this is the ultimate night out in Phuket, offering a fun yet professional performance featuring pyrotechnics, trapeze artists and even live elephants.

Phuket Town

The historical and administrative center of Phuket traces its roots back centuries first, to the early European traders and later to the Chinese immigrants who arrived here during the local tin mining boom of the 19th century. Today, Phuket Town continues to thrive as one of the island’s most authentic cultural areas, punctuated by magnificent architectural treasures, Chinese shrines, colourful open-air markets, and restaurants that serve some of Phuket’s most delicious local cuisines.

Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong Temple in Chalong Bay is the largest and most important temple in Phuket Island. The Grand Pagoda which is the dominant feature of the temple is said to contain a bone splinter from the Lord Buddha himself. The walls of the pagoda are beautifully adorned with murals depicting the story of the Buddha’s life.
